Description
Every day we challenge families attending our clinics to put us out of a job by giving them the best preventative oral health education, yet we are still here performing restorative treatment daily. Why is the battle to eradicate dental caries so difficult when it is an entirely preventable disease? Through a paediatric focused lens, let us examine some of the systemic reasons "why" that go beyond the individual – our society and broader context may be influencing the caries experience of our patients more significantly than anticipated.
