Dental Vet is Western Australia’s first and only, purpose built Veterinary Equine Dentistry clinic. They are one of the few practices in the world with the training, equipment and horse dentistry facilities to provide root canal therapy and restorative dentistry. This presentation will look at some of challenges faced when carrying out endodontic treatment on horses.

After graduating as a veterinarian in 2007, Kirsten worked in general equine practice before starting ‘Dental Vet’ in 2010. In 2012 she completed her Membership examinations in Equine Dentistry and in 2021 received her PhD at UWA for her research into equine peripheral dental caries under Prof Marc Tennant. She has published widely and presented her findings nationally and internationally. In 2017 she opened the Dental Vet Clinic, allowing the facilitation of endodontics and restorations and is currently continuing research in equine endodontics.
